International adoption is a wonderful way to complete your family. The military community has sought ways to help service men and women in their desire to become adoptive parents. Military families are eligible for reimbursement of expenses by adopting through World Links because we are a recognized non-profit organization.

Military Families can receive up to $1,500 in adoption grant funding, whether you are on active duty now or have military service on record. Legal counsel, filing fees, medical care and travel costs are eligible for reimbursement. Our staff will help you contact appropriate military channels to inquire about adding a child on your medical coverage plan even before an adoption is finalized.

World Links has earned a reputation for creating plans of action to address brief windows of opportunity. Regardless of where you might be stationed or how soon you might transfer to another base, our staff is available to map out your travel options. Our in-country coordinators also make sure your precious leave time is productive.

We recognize the challenges that can get in the way of adoption. Time away from a spouse and distance from other family members may already be part of your experience. Even while stationed close to home, timing and support are valid concerns. The coordinators you work with at World Links walk you through the process. You will have people to guide you when you visit your prospective child overseas. We will put you in touch with a local network when you bring your child home. Military families can always count on us for encouragement and support.

Congress is currently reviewing legislation to approve longer leave time to service personnel so they may bond with their adoptive children. The branches of the military do not have uniform policies regarding personal and family leave at this time.

World Links can assist military families with any of our Adoption Programs. Partnering countries that allow for the most flexibility are Russia, Moldova and Bulgaria. These countries are committed to giving their children a bright future. Infants, toddlers, and young children are available for adoptions.
