Linking families together across the World
Information upon request
It's sad, really, but adoption agencies are so far behind others in use of information technology, that we don't even rank there, adoption agencies don't even exist on that list.

We, here at World Links, are working hard to change that, but years of doing things one way can't be undone overnight, and it will take us time to put all the information you may be interested in to where you'll have it readily available.

So, while we are working on having this information on our website and in our family management section, you can request the following from us:

1. Adoption service policies and procedures, the number of our adoption placements per year for the prior three calendar years, and the number and percentage of those placements that remain intact, are disrupted, or have been dissolved as of the time the information is provided.

2. The number of parents who apply to adopt on a yearly basis, based on the last three calendar years.

3. A list of families who have adopted through the agency who have agreed to act as reference for the agency

4. Proof that the agency's state license is current and valid

5. Copies of all contracts and a copy of the agency's refund policy.
Website Update
We've updated our website's internal configurations, and everything worked fine on our test server. However, live environment has some variables that we couldn't test, so we'll have to monitor everything and see if any other issues arise.

So far known issues are:

Our newly updated adoption guide doesn't display.
Our “Angels in Adoption” page doesn't display information.
Our “Country Pages” don't display updated information.

We are working on resolving these issues and should have something soon.

Meeting with Kyrgyzstan Delegation
Tatiana (our CEO) is in Washington right now, she met with the Kyrgyzstan delegation last night at the embassy, and again this morning for an unofficial breakfast, and provided them with a lot of information related to the international adoption process.
Members of the delegation said that they have a better understanding of the situation now and upon their return will concentrate on moving this issue further with the Kyrg Parliament.
Arrests in Kyrgyzstan, World Links not affected
You probably just read an e-mail from JCICS about arrests in Kyrgyzstan, stating that one adoption coordinator is already in custody and two more possible being arrested. We do not know which agencies these coordinators worked for, but they were not working with World Links.
We just got off the phone with our coordinator and she is not involved in these events.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will keep you updated.
Kyrgyzstan Registration
Kyrgyzstan officials held a meeting today and the results are good and bad:

BAD: They announced criminal cases against Kyrgyz citizens and are seeking Interpol action against some American adoption agencies for child trafficking.

GOOD: World Links is considered to be one of the very few agencies that are compliant with all the rules, laws and requirements. We are also one of the very few agencies to have the official registration certificates:

There are also unofficial news coming through the back channels, and it seems that Kyrgyzstan may still process the cases that were registered before February 11th.
Bulgarian Angels video

This is a video about Bulgarian Adoptions. We recommend watching it. Here is the link to this video on YouTube, comments are interesting too.
Meeting Rescheduled
Kyrgyzstan officials rescheduled their meeting. They said that the new tentative date is the 25th. There wasn't any reason given as to why it was rescheduled.

Well, we'll just have to wait another 5 days, there isn't any way around that. The plight continues.
The Plight of Kyrgyzstan
This is the first post in our blog and we just wanted to let you know that we've posted an article about Kyrgyzstan as we are awaiting for the Kyrgyz officials to meet on the 20th of March.
