BULGARIAN ADOPTION PROGRAM

World Links Adoption program in Bulgaria

Bulgarian International Adoption Process

After you submit an application, World Links will promptly begin the international adoption process. You will be assigned a consultant to help you gather the documents needed for your Bulgarian adoption dossier. Once your dossier is compiled and translated, it will be forwarded to Bulgaria. Referrals are received after documents are reviewed by a committee from the Bulgarian Ministry, who will match a child to based on your age, gender and health preferences. You will be notified as soon as a referral becomes available and receive an invitation to travel to Bulgaria.

Your referral contains a profile of a waiting child best matching the description of the child you would like to adopt. It includes the name of the prospective child, along with a picture, video and relevant medical and social information. If you choose to accept the referral and continue to the next step, World Links will schedule your trip and assist with all travel arrangements.

In order to complete a Bulgarian adoption, two trips are required. Only one parent is required each trip, although both may choose to travel. Travel to Bulgaria on the first trip lasts 7 days, and the second trip lasts 7-10 days. There is a 10-12 week wait in between first and second trips.

Our English-speaking adoption associates will assist you from the moment you arrive in Bulgaria until you return home with your newly adopted child.
