Adoption program from Moldova

World Links International Adoption Agency is pleased to be among a handful of American adoption agencies accredited to work in Moldova, which is quickly becoming a favorite destination for international adoptions. Moldova provides a wealth of information about their waiting children, including pictures, videotapes and extensive medical information.

Moldovan children may either reflect their fair-haired and -skinned Russian heritage, or their Romanian ancestry, with olive skin and dark hair. These children are well loved by their Moldovan caregivers and are generally in good health.

After you return home from Moldova with your child, you can take advantage of World Links’ post adoption counseling, mentoring and social networks services. Our numerous events and get-togethers with other adoptive families provide continued support to families after the international adoption process is successfully completed.

Who Can Adopt?

• Married couples or single individuals are eligible.
• Prior divorce is acceptable.
• Prospective parents may be childless or already have biological/adoptive children.
• One parent must be at least under fifty.

Children Availability

• Children can be 6 years old and up.
• Siblings are available.
• Children with special needs can be adopted.
• More than one child can be adopted at the same time.

Adoption process

Once you submit your application to World Links, we will help you begin the international adoption process. You’ll be assigned an individual consultant to assist in gathering and completing your dossier documents. Once your dossier is compiled it will be sent to the Moldovan Embassy in Washington, D.C. for verification. Your dossier is then forwarded to Moldova for legalization, translation and registration at the Moldovan Adoption Committee. As soon as the referral becomes available, you’ll receive an invitation to travel to Moldova.

The referral contains a profile of a waiting child best matching the description of the type of child you would like to adopt. The name of the prospective child, a picture, relevant medical and social information and videotape are included.

World Links will then schedule your trip and assist with all travel arrangements. Two short visits of 5-7 days each or one trip of about 21 days are required. Only one parent needs to travel, but both may do so, if desired.

Once the adoption is finalized in Moldova, parents travel to Bucharest, Romania, to obtain an Immigrant Visa for their child. Our English-speaking coordinator will always be available to assist you in Moldova.
